We recently had an update from Sacred City, the Providence, Rhode Island, church plant with Iowa connections. They have had several women baptized recently, and they shared a moving testimony from a young woman named Claire who is a student at Brown University. You can watch her moving testimony and baptism here. [Claire's testimony contains some content that may not be suitable for children.]
We reached out to Jen Davis, a missionary we support, who works with college students there. Being able to work with students at Brown University was one of her prayer requests last year when she spoke to our adult Sunday school. A year later, Claire's testimony represents the fruit being produced in that space and is "such an answer to prayer." (You can see Jen at the end of Claire’s video assisting with her baptism.)
Jen shared the following prayer requests:
- continued discipleship at Brown University and Rhode Island College, and deep discipleship for all of the students involved,
- for female student leaders to be raised up within Campus Fellowship,
- that God would send more female laborers to join the ministry team in Providence,
- for favor with Brown University’s administration as they seek official campus recognition, and
- for students across all campuses in Providence to have soft hearts toward the gospel.
We also pray the same prayer we offered in our previous post about her ministry:
That the Lord provides for Jen’s needs, physical, emotional, and spiritual, filling her with hope and the desire to continue in the work he sets before her each day, providing encouragement in many forms, and that he continues to disciple her as she helps draw others to him and disciples them, all for the glory of his kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If you would like to support Jen’s ministry directly you can go to her site and donate online or call the church office for more information on how to do so.
