We have a couple of updates from Anibal & Elizabeth Mazariegos, our missionary friends in Guatemala. Sadly, Anibal has been in poor health for the last several months. The following is from their latest updates:

On May 30th, Anibal had to undergo surgery due to complications with his large intestine, and he has had a colostomy ever since then. It was only a month and a half ago that he was able to return to some ministry activities. Although this has been a long and painful process for us as a family, we continue trusting in the Lord, as we have seen His hand at work throughout it all.

We ask that you would please join us together in prayer that it would be possible for us to continue our missionary work and that Anibal’s recovery time would be shortened. Please also pray that we remain faithful to the Lord during this process, trusting that God will provide everything needed and what is lacking for the upcoming surgery.

Thank you for your words of encouragement, your prayers, and your love for us.

They also recently participated in a medical outreach event:

We praise and bless the name of God because, despite health setbacks, the evangelistic medical outreach trips in Escuintla, Guatemala, were able to take place. Once again, thanks to God and the Faith Global Medical Mission team, it was possible to bring the good news of salvation to five low-income communities last June.

We also thank the doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists, and evangelists for bringing healthcare services and food to families in Guatemala.

May God continue to use you to be a blessing, beloved Faith Global Medical Missions family.

Editor's note: After posting we received the following message from Anibal:

It is a great blessing for us to know that you are praying for us. I want to share that, thank God, the Lord worked a miracle in my body regarding my health; I am now returning to normal and beginning to serve in the ministry once again. Please pray for the children to whom we minister each week—in the village of Santa Marta and the community of La Bendición—that through this missionary work, they may become true disciples of the Lord; these children struggle with many challenges due to the circumstances in which they live. Thank you so much for loving us and for keeping us in your hearts and minds. Please give my regards to the pastor, the entire church, and your family.
