“to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” – Luke 4:18 ESV
Happy 250th birthday, America!
To celebrate the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence, First Presbyterian Church is having a Liberty from Hunger food drive through the Fourth of July holiday. We aim to collect 1,776 items across seven categories, with a goal of 250 items in each category. We have high goals, but there is a high level of need in our community. Children are out of school for the summer so they are not getting school lunch while food prices are rising. Any excess food collected will be shared with other little pantries. Keep reading to see how you can help us reach our goals.
Goal: to collect 1776 items in 7 categories with a goal of 250 items in each category

*Items needing refrigeration or freezing are welcome. Please contact the church office to arrange a time to bring such items.
There are a few guidelines for the food drive:
One point is given for each item that can be placed in the little pantry outside.
· One can or box = 1 point
· A box of 6 poptarts = 3 points (three packages can be put outside)
· A box of 10 granola bars = 10 points (10 packages can be put outside)
If items can fit in two categories (i.e. little cereal cups) they will be counted in their main category (breakfast) until that category is full, then counted in secondary category (single serve or snack).
