How are One Great Hour of Sharing Gifts used?

As we come through Holy Week we near the end of the church's yearly One Great Hour of Sharing campaign on Easter Sunday. Our gifts to OGHS are used in so many ways to help people here in the United States and around the world through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program, and the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People organizations. As OGHS says on their website:

Each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing helps to improve the lives of people in challenging situations. The Offering provides us a way to share God's love with our neighbors in need. In fact, OGHS is the single, largest way that Presbyterians come together every year to work for a better world.

This article from last April shows a few of the types of overseas progams OGHS supports and links to more stories about the impacts of our OGHS gifts.
